Suicide Intervention Program
Services Provided:
Free individual short-term counselling for children and youth aged 5 to 19 in Delta identified as at moderate to high risk of suicide and engaged in high risk activities.
We provide suicide assessments, short-term intervention, safety planning, case management and referrals to other resources.
Please note that we are not a crisis centre and that it might take up to one business day to respond. We are open Monday – Friday 9-4:30pm.
This program is available by referrals only from the School District or MCFD.
If you are concerned for the immediate safety of a youth (suicide, life-threatening injury or mental health concerns), please take them to Surrey Memorial Hospital, which is open 24 hours a day, every day. If you need help getting the child/youth to the hospital, you can call 911 or Delta Police at 604 946 4411 and request assistance.
