Community Partners

Deltassist not only provides a wide array of counselling, seniors and community services to the residents of Delta, we also collaborate with many Delta community agencies and companies to provide other much needed services that would not be possible without these partnerships.

Phone Shopping for Seniors:
Safeway Sunshine Hills
Save On Foods Tsawwassen

Safeway Sunshine Hills and Save On Foods in Tsawwassen have both partnered with Deltassist for years, as home bases for our phone shopping program. Once a week, our volunteers and Program Coordinator shop at each location for seniors that cannot get out to do their own shopping. Both stores have been a vital part of this program, providing a space to run the program, in-store support, delivery services for the groceries and volunteer recognition.

Safeway Sunshine Hills is the home base for the North Delta phone shopping program. Shopping at this location is done every Tuesday morning.

Save On Foods in Tsawwassen is the home base for the South Delta phone shopping program. Shopping at this location is done every Wednesday morning.

Bread Gleaning:
Monte Cristo

Deltassist  administers a weekly bread gleaning program with bread that is generously donated by Monte Cristo Bakery.

Every week volunteers pick up the bread from the bakery, package it at our office and then it is distributed to various community partners.

The bread is free and available to all.

Starfish Backpack Program:
North Delta Rotary

Deltassist is proud to be partnering with the North Delta Rotary to offer this Program within the community of Delta.

The Starfish Backpack Program acknowledges that poverty and hunger continue over the weekend for many children in elementary school.

The program is simple, backpacks are sent home each Friday, full of food for children and their families for the weekend during the school year.

Kwantlen Polytechnic Bursary

Deltassist has established an annual bursary that is administered through Kwantlen Polytechnic University Foundation.

The bursary, in an annual amount of $1000, is awarded to a deserving Kwantlen student who is pursuing a course of studies leading to a diploma or degree in the helping professions.

To receive additional information or to apply for the bursary, visit the Foundation's website by clicking the button below.
