External Job Posting Full time Position: This position reports directly to the Executive Director
Description: required to support a counselling team through the provision of individual and group clinical supervision; monitor and evaluate staff performance; develop and evaluate programs; monitor contract adherence; liaise with funders and other community organizations; participate as a member of the agency’s Management & Planning Team; and work collaboratively with Management to achieve established agency goals. Flexible hours, evening and weekend work is required. Deltassist is a mission driven; community-based, non-profit society and the incumbent in this position must be able to commit to the Mission and Values of the Society.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Psychology or counselling related field, BCACC Registration or equivalent is mandatory
The Manager of Counselling Services has specific training and experience with the following:
Cognitive behavioral interventions, short term, solution focused counselling, trauma and resiliency informed practice, biopsychosocial model, assessment of needs and strengths; development of appropriate service plans with specified outcomes including monitoring and adapting plans based on progress toward established outcomes, assessing risk such as suicide, mental health issues, domestic violence
The Manager of Counselling Services is expected to engage in the following activities:
- Clinically supervise staff that work with: persons who are referred by the Ministry of Children and Family Development who may also use substances/are substance affected; persons who have perpetrated or have experienced domestic violence, children and youth who are depressed, anxious, and/or experiencing suicidal ideation, caregivers and families, pregnant and parenting teens and seniors
- Review and sign all counselling staff client documentation
- Participate in Performance Quality Improvement
- Work well in a union environment
- Actively participate in agency meetings and adhere to all agency policies and procedures
- Liaise effectively with funders, other organizations and community professionals
- Engage with the community to increase knowledge about program services and also offer community wide education
- Participate in volunteer activities in support of the Society’s Mission
- Perform other related duties as required
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years clinical supervision experience, and counselling experience including family and group counselling
- Experience with substance misuse issues; suicide assessment and risk; family issues, including family violence, sexual abuse and mental health issues, pregnancy, seniors counselling
- Skills: – excellent verbal, written, time management, and word processing skills
Additional:
- Must have current certification in First Aid/CPR
- Ability to speak a second language and certification in Non-Violent Crisis Prevention Intervention are considered assets
- Having a car is necessary to attend community meetings in person
