Location: Deltassist Ladner and North Delta offices
Grid Level: 12 Step 1
Wage/Salary: $29.17 per hour
Shifts Schedule/Hours per Week: 35 hours per week Monday to Friday, with some evening and weekend work as assigned

Job Summary:
Deltassist is a mission-driven, community-based, non-profit society and the incumbent in this position must be able to commit to the Mission and Values of the Society, and work within a child-family centered, strength-based, service model.
The Coordinator of Community Services, plans, implements, and oversees the day-to-day activities of a variety of services which meet the needs of the community and which are delivered primarily by volunteer personnel.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Community Programs:
- Coordinate the Toy Depot and Christmas Hamper programs.
- Recruit, screen, select, orient, train, monitor and provide support and recognition to volunteers
- Coordinate the Income Tax Program.
- Take annual webinar training for the Income Tax program.
- Liaise with community resources, service clubs, stakeholders, residents and volunteers in order to coordinate services.
- Represent the organization at external meetings regarding seasonal projects.
- Prepare media materials for Community Services
- Coordinate and participate in community awareness events.
- Maintain related records and statistical information and produce reports as required.
Fund Raising:
- Develop and promote a Third-party fund-raising plan
- Work with community organizations and businesses in implementing third-party fund-raising activities.
Social Media:
- Post and update on all social media venues (Instagram, Facebook and others)
- Check all social media venues for updates and for posts we have been tagged in
Seniors’ Services:
- Assist the Seniors Services Coordinator with front line service delivery in Ladner office contacting phone clients as needed, responding to requests for seniors’ services and responding to telephone and drop-in inquiries for information/referral.
- Assist the Seniors Services Coordinator with the Better at Home programs with I.T. support, client intakes, submitting reports and budgets.
Volunteer Services:
- Perform administrative duties relating to Deltassist volunteers.
- Recruit and provide support and recognition to volunteers for all Deltassist programs.
- Post volunteer opportunities on social media, through the Community Newsletter, and in local papers
- Keep ACCESS Volunteer files up to date and current, enter all volunteers in to ACCESS
- Liaise with local media regarding volunteer opportunities and activities.
- Represent Deltassist at regional volunteer meetings.
Other Responsibilities:
- Collect, research, organize and summarize data from a variety of sources and produce reports relating to program status, demographic change and community needs.
- Arrange meetings, schedule appointments, book rooms for meetings, prepare agendas for Community Services programs and services.
- Promote public awareness of and support for programs by developing systems for production and maintenance of promotional materials, such as brochures and presentation kits and attending community events.
- Prepare and/or distribute program-focused press releases and public services announcements as directed.
Qualifications include:
- Grade 12 and minimum six (6) months recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Highly organized, with attention to detail
- Expertise in working with Excel, Word, Access, Outlook and other MS Office Software
- Expertise with social media platforms
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Required performance:
Job performance must be at a satisfactory level and will be assessed in the fulfillment of the above relevant job duties, including performance and evaluation reports and disciplinary records in accordance with Article 11.4(d) of the Collective Agreement.
